Michigan 22, Chicago 0
This Ticket is from Fielding Yost's first season as head
coach at Michigan. The 1901 Michigan team outscored its opponents
550-0 during the season, a scoring average of nearly a point per minute
(hence the nickname "Yost's Point A Minute Team"). This was Michigan's
first national championship team. The road to victory over Chicago and
its other 9 opponents earned Michigan the invitation to play at the first Tournament of
Roses football game on January 1, 1902.
