Michigan 22, Chicago 0

This Ticket is from Fielding Yost's first season as head coach at Michigan.  The 1901 Michigan team outscored its opponents 550-0 during the season, a scoring average of nearly a point per minute (hence the nickname "Yost's Point A Minute Team").  This was Michigan's first national championship team.  The road to victory over Chicago and its other 9 opponents earned Michigan the invitation to play at the first Tournament of Roses football game on January 1, 1902.

AWAY GAMES

Michigan 50, Iowa 0

This game was played in "neutral" territory in Chicago.  The Chicago vs Michigan game had been the traditional Thanksgiving day football game, but this year Iowa was slated to take on the Wolverines.  A massacre ensued.
