This was a particularly tough loss, since the Wolverines faced their old team mates who had joined the Navy.  The Iowa Seahawks were lead by former Wolverine star Forrest Evashevski at Quarterback who brought the Seahawks back from a 14-0 deficit.  Evashevski had been an all-conference star for three years (1938-1940) and captain of the Wolverine squad in 1940 when Tom Harmon won the Heisman.

Michigan 34, Northwestern 16

The wildcats had a strong team in 1942, lead by Otto Graham who completed 20/29 attempts for 295 passing yards.  The dominant Michigan line, including  All-Americans Al Wistert and Julie Franks found itself spending more time in the Northwestern backfield than most of the Northwestern team.  Paul White scored two touchdowns in a ground attack that featured only 8 passes by the Wolverines.

Michigan scored one touchdown in each quarter to maintain a lead throughout the entire game.  The dominant play of Julius Franks in this game was instrumental in his being named an All-American by Grantland Rice in Collier's magazine.

Michigan 35, Harvard 7

This was the last meeting of Michigan and Harvard.  As expected, Michigan controlled the entire game with the lopsided nature of the game not reflected by the score.
