This was the last game in Michigan Stadium with a crowd below 100,000.  This blow-out attracted a crowd of only 93,857.  Ever since this game in October 1975, the big house has brought in more than 100,000 for every game.

Bowl Game

1976 Orange Bowl: Oklahoma 14, Michigan 6

For years, the Big Ten Conference had prohibited its member schools from attending any bowl game beyond the Rose Bowl.   The 1975 season marked the first year without this restriction, which allowed Michigan to attend its first bowl game outside of Pasadena.  In this Orange Bowl match-up, a strong Oklahoma team beat Michigan to claim the National Championship.
