Michigan's worst home loss in 35 years came at the hands of
the surprising Hawkeyes. The Wolverines were within one point in the
second half, but Iowa wore down the Michigan defense and scored the game's
final 24 points.

Michigan won its Big Ten opener for the 23rd straight season
as the Wolverines forced five Iowa turnovers and quickly turned four of them
into touchdowns for a 30-17 victory. Braylon Edwards put Michigan ahead for
good with a 58-yard TD catch from Chad Henne in the second quarter following
an Iowa fumble. U-M also had two two-play scoring drives after Hawkeye
turnovers, and Grant Mason returned an interception 25 yards for a score.
